February 7th, 1951 – March 20th, 2026

Louis L. Adams, recently of Saint Louis, MO died 20 March 2026 at the age of 75 years after two weeks in hospice care following a year of treatments for a recurrence of colon cancer which he had previously defeated about 24 years ago.

Lou was born and educated in New Jersey, a graduate of Helmetta Elementary School, where he was known as Woody, and Jamesburg High School.  After graduation, Lou worked briefly at the Helme Snuff mill before joining the US Army where he trained as Military Police.  While stationed in Germany, Lou met and married Chris, his first wife with whom he had his only child, Petula.  When Lou and Chris divorced, he left the military and Germany behind while Chris and Petula, both native born Germans, remained there.

Once back in the U.S., Lou found work as a corrections officer at the Bradford County Correctional Facility, Troy, PA.  In 2001 Lou was diagnosed with colon cancer.  After surgery and months of treatments, he was declared cancer free.  Around this time, Lou met Michele, a divorced mother of five adult children, in a chatroom online, and they dated long-distance for several years.  In 2006 Lou retired, moved to Michele’s home in Beach Lake, PA and they married.  Together, Michele and Lou faced life’s challenges with Michele’s children, their mates and the resultant grandbabies.   Michele’s love gave Lou the ability to manage Mom and Dad’s final years, Mom dying in 2007 and Dad in 2010.  Then unexpectedly in 2012, Michele herself took sick and died leaving Lou tragically alone.

Eventually, Lou decided to move out to St. Louis to be near his brother, Al.  For eight years Lou prepared Sunday dinners and provided entertainment through his video streaming services.  We also frequented the movies, explored various restaurants and places of local interest.

In the fall of 2024, Lou started experiencing pain, fatigue, and digestive issues that eventually led to the discovery in the spring of 2025 of an aggressive recurrence of colon cancer.  Treatments helped for many months, but eventually by the beginning of March 2026 he had decided it was time to enter hospice care where his life journey ended.

Lou was predeceased by his wife Michele, his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, his youngest brother, and a cousin.

Surviving are his ex-wife and daughter, Chris and Petula Adams of Germany; the children and grandchildren of his late wife Michele; the children and grandchildren of his late brother Donald; his brother Alfred and his especially beloved cousins, Marguerite, Richard, Roy, Bob, Jennifer, Robin, Libby, and Laura, plus friends from wherever he had lived and on-line.
