Robert E. Busby, Sr. (Bob)

October 9, 1941 – March 21, 2026

Bob was loved for many things, but especially for the gift that first drew Lynn to him 45 years ago:  he made her laugh. A man of few words, Bob chose them well. He loved his family deeply and  showed that love in steady, lasting ways.

Bob spent his professional life in the field of Information Technology, a natural fit for his sharp  mind and love of problem-solving. His interest in computers and personal technology extended  well beyond work. Together, Bob and Lynn operated an Apple computer dealership, collecting  memorable stories along the way.

Bob delighted in solving puzzles of all kinds, whether working through Sudoku or figuring out  how to help a friend struggling with computer literacy. He took pride in caring for his lawn, often  saying it gave him a sense of accomplishment. He treasured time spent near his grandchildren and  loved family gatherings filled with laughter, conversation, and good-spirited banter.

He was an avid golfer and was also fortunate to travel widely throughout the United States, taking  special joy in the beauty of mountains, trees, and streams. Among his favorite memories were  standing on the 18th hole at Pebble Beach, viewing the beauty of Lake Louise, and standing on an  iceberg in Alaska.

Bob was intelligent, kind, and deeply loved. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn Zacny Busby; his children, Robert E. Busby, Jr., C. Lynn Alpert,  and Michelle L. Grippi; and his grandchildren, Katie, Liz, Jules, and Natalie.

Bob was born on October 9, 1941, in St. Louis, Missouri. He attended Southwest Community High  School and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Missouri.

For 40 years, Bob made his home with Lynn at 140 Fort Sumter Way, St. Charles, Missouri. He  enjoyed his last 5 years at Clarendale Senior Living, in St. Peters, Missouri.
