Katherene M. McBride (nee Adams) passed peacefully on March 23, 2026.

Katherene was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Arthur J. McBride.

Dear mother of David (Amy) McBride, Lisa (Gary) Hearst; grandmother of Suzanne Sokolich, Daniel (Jennifer) Sokolich, Joseph Hearst; great-grandmother of Jacquelyn Morrison, Kaylee Sokolich, Vada Sokolich; loving sister of Teresa (Charles) Zorumski, Carmen (Darrell) Wolfe, Richard (Debbie) Adams, Mike (Joyce) Adams, Jerry Adams, late Byron Adams, caring sister-in-law of Lakieda (late Harold) Reeder, late Audrey (Bill) Sorrells, late Jerry (Freda) McBride, aunt, great-aunt, cousin, and friend.

Katherene was born in Paducah, Kentucky, spent early years in Centralia, Illinois, and started grade school at Holy Rosary in north St. Louis, and graduated from DeAndres High School in 1960. Katherene married Arthur in 1961 and traveled with him as he pursued his professional baseball career. After raising her own family, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She retired as a dental assistant after 30+ years.

Katherene enjoyed taking vacation with her family across the country, and meeting with her friends at the YMCA. Katherene enjoyed walking her dog, and visiting with her neighbors.

Katherene will be deeply missed by all who know and loved her.

Memorial mass will be held at Nazareth Chapel on April 9th at 10:30 AM.
