Sammy D. Lane, age 73, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on April 8, 2026.

Born on August 3, 1952, Sammy lived a life centered on love, family, and friendship. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. 

Sammy was the beloved husband of 54 years to Karen Lane (née Owens). Together, they built a strong and loving family that was the pride and joy of his life. He is survived by his four children: Lorie Lane, Theresa Lane, Sammy Lane Jr., and Amy Lane (Rick Brown). 

He was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren: Breanna Fitzhenry (Justin), Nathan Bergman, Logan Bergman, Jackson Bergman, Sarah Lane, Sammy Lane III, Daniel Lane, and Katelyn Lane. His grandchildren brought him immense happiness, and he cherished every moment spent with them. 

Sammy is also survived by his brother, Michael J. Stringer (Angie), and his sister, Deborah Brown, along with countless friends who became like family through the years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillie Stringer and Sherrill Stringer, and his sister, Vickie Heflin. 

Sammy will be remembered as a loving and dedicated husband and father. He had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome, treating friends and strangers alike, as if they were part of his own family. His generous spirit, sense of humor, and genuine care for others will leave a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him. 

He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
