In Celebration of the Life of Rufus B. Scipho, Jr.

March 20, 1955 – March 23, 2026

Rufus B. Scipho, Jr. was born to the union of Rufus and Augusta Scipho, Sr. He was their only son and the sixth child after their five daughters: Gloria, Evelyn, Shirley, Ruth and Melinda.

He was educated in the St. Louis Public School System and graduated from Charles Sumner High School in June 1973. In later years, to further develop his passion for photography, he attended St. Louis Community College studying to earn an Associate in Arts Degree.

Rufus served in the United States Army between 1981 and 1990, completing 2 tours stateside and abroad.

He is survived by three children, Ameenah, Ivy and Phillip. Grandchildren, Lauren, Sydney and Ronin. Sisters, Evelyn, Shirley, Ruth and Melinda. Nephews, nieces, and cousins. A special supportive friend and companion Brenda and a host of childhood friends.

Rufus B. Scipho, Jr. confessed his hope for salvation through the blood of the Faithful One, Jesus Christ alone. He has now finished his race according to the purpose, plan and will of GOD ALMIGHTY. We bow in humble submission and say AMEN.
