William Adreon Jr.

William Clark Adreon, Jr. passed away at his home in St. Louis, Missouri on February 13, 2012 at the age of 66. Son of the late William Clark Adreon and Isabel Spurlock Kieffer Adreon, Clark was born on August 9, 1945 at the Naval Hospital in Pensacola Florida while his father was stationed there during World War II. The family later moved back to St. Louis, Missouri where Clark spent part of his childhood living on Arbor Road in Creve Coeur, Missouri attending the Old Bonhomme Elementary School. A few years later his family moved to Pershing Place in the Central West End in St. Louis City and Clark attended The Taylor School in Clayton, Missouri.

Clark met, fell madly in love with and soon married Sandra Jane Wilucki on July 28, 1966 and moved her with him to the University of Virginia at Charlottesville, where he graduated with a degree in Economics in 1967 and was a member of the Sigma Phi fraternity.

Together Clark and Sande created a very happy home in Clayton, Missouri and raised two daughters, Alexandra Spurlock Adreon (Bissell) and Christina Jane Clark Adreon (Collier). Clark spent much of his career in the banking profession in downtown St. Louis.

Clark was an avid fly fisherman, outdoorsman, adventurer and explorer. He also thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family, be it just time together chatting or going horseback riding, hiking or fishing in Aspen Colorado, or deep sea fishing and relaxing in Sanibel Island Florida. Simply put, there are many wonderful memories of so many good times spent together over the years and so many amazing adventures had together.

Clark loved nature, God, God’s great Earth and all of His creatures. In addition, he also had such a tremendous joy of life, a clever wit, a boundless love for his family and greeted everyone he met with the most amazing of smiles.

He is survived by, and missed terribly by, his remaining family members, his wife Sande, daughters Alexandra and Christina, sons-in-law Daniel William Bissell and Joshua Thomas Collier, his grandchildren James Clark Bissell, Corabelle Alesandra Clark Collier and Adelleine Celinda Clark Collier, his brother-in-law James Wilucki, his sister-in-law Belinda Wilucki and his mother-in-law Jane Kewley Wilucki.

Clark was laid to rest on Wednesday February 22, 2012 at his family’s burial site at the foot of his Great-great-great grandfather‘s tomb, the General William Clark of the Lewis and Clark Expedition at Bellefontaine Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.

Donations may be made in honour of Clark’s memory to The Open Door Animal Sanctuary atwww.odas.org.
