Ross Longendyke

Ross Longendyke, age 64, of Webster Groves, Missouri, passed away peacefully on 04/16/2026 from ALS. He was born on 06/14/1961 in Flint, Michigan and lived his early and young adult years in Davison, Michigan.

Ross received his ALS diagnosis just months after retiring from his 30+ year career in the direct marketing field.  Although receiving this devastating terminal diagnosis at the age of 62, he faced his future with acceptance and selflessness, along with heavy doses of dark humor.  Ross deeply loved his family, participating in and following sports, a shared love of music with his brothers, and the University of Michigan, his alma mater.

Ross was preceded in death by his daughter, Grace Lillian Longendyke and his parents, Richard and Dorothy Longendyke. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Shannon “Sally” Longendyke, his sons, James, Oliver, and Eli Longendyke, his brothers, Richard, Robert, and Ronald and their families.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Team Gleason Foundation, a truly amazing organization which provides many free supports to those diagnosed with ALS such as power wheelchairs, speech assistive technology and once-in-a-lifetime experiences all free of charge to the patient and their families.
