Richard “Rick” Joice, age 70, of Saint Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026, after a brave battle with cancer. Born on January 6, 1956, in Evanston, Illinois, Rick brought warmth and kindness to everyone he met.

Rick shared a beautiful life with his beloved husband and partner of 36 years, Kurt (Wood) Joice; the two were happily married for 11 years. A man of simple pleasures, Rick found immense joy in tending to his flowers, hunting for treasures at local thrift stores, and sitting on the porch watching the wildlife while his dogs ran in the yard.

He was a cherished husband, brother, son, uncle, and great-uncle who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, John Alden Joice and Kathryn Boatright Joice. He is survived by his devoted husband, Kurt, and his brothers, John (Elaine) Joice, Robert (Diana) Joice, and Stephen (Noreen) Joice, as well as a large, loving extended family of nieces, nephews, and friends.

A memorial service celebrating Rick’s life will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM at 1210 Locust Street, St. Louis, Missouri.
