Carol Josephson

Carol Jean Josephson

Carol Jean Josephson (née Thomas), age 62, of Lake Saint Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026, at 2:06 p.m. at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, following complications from cancer treatment.

Born on December 22, 1963, in San Diego, California, Carol grew up in Banning, California. She later returned to the East County San Diego area, where she planted deep roots and spent nearly 30 beautiful years married to her beloved husband, Brian. Together, their journey took them to Phoenix, Arizona, before they ultimately relocated to the St. Louis area in 2025.

A dedicated physical therapist for over 20 years, Carol spent her career healing others. Even after her retirement, she continued to selflessly use her gifts and education to serve those around her. Outside of her professional life, she was an avid crafter, a devoted member of her local church, and happiest when surrounded by her family and friends.

Throughout her long and courageous battle with melanoma, Carol suffered well, never complained, and maintained a steadfast trust in God. Her family gives ultimate thanks to God for Carol’s salvation in Christ Jesus our Lord. They grieve with profound comfort and hope (1 Thessalonians 4:13), knowing she is finally home, resting in the arms of her Savior, and forever free from pain.

“O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” > — 1 Corinthians 15:55-57

Carol is survived by her devoted husband, Brian Josephson; her loving children, Jessica (Anthony) Ruger and David (Ashley) Josephson; and her cherished granddaughter, Mikayla Tarantino.

A memorial service honoring Carol’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Carol’s honor to the Haven Reformed Baptist Church.
