Michael Turkovic, age 81, of St. Louis, MO, passed away peacefully on 06/09/2026 from lung cancer. He was born on 09/06/1944 in Montenegro.

Michael was a boat pilot on the Mississippi River for almost 40 years. Born in Podgorica, Montenegro, he made his way to the United States to start a new life and was blessed with meeting his wife of 55 years and 4 children. He was a force of nature that lived life to the fullest and was a BRAVE man. He lit up every room with his charisma and magnetism.

He is survived by Linda Turkovic (wife), Children- Brad Turkovic, Dana Turkovic, Amena Zamora (Geoff) & Matt Turkovic (Kristen), Grandkids- Halle Frisella, Oliver Althoff-Zamora, Callum McGrath, Hailey Turkovic, Hannah Turkovic, Siblings- Jack (brother) Bato (brother) and Beba (sister).

Memorial will be held on 08/22/2026 at Laumeier Sculpture Park, 12580 Rott Road, St. Louis, MO beginning at 11:00 am.
