Frances Ann Bourisaw (born 3/12/49) passed away peacefully at her home in St. Louis, MO on 6/22/26. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, godmother, colleague, neighbor, and friend.
She was predeceased by her parents James “Hoover” Bourisaw Sr., and Geneva Bourisaw (nee Politte), and her sister Patricia Jo Dixon, all of DeSoto, MO. She is survived by her brother James Bourisaw Jr. (Kelly) of Blytheville, AR, and her nieces Annie (Ron) Christopher of DeSoto, MO, Abagale (Mike) Miller of DeSoto, Erika Foyt of Blytheville, AR, and Ali (Stefano) Weimer of Crawfordsville, AR.
Frances was born in her grandmother’s house in Mineral Point, MO and grew up in DeSoto, MO. She started working at about age 12 in the kitchen at Camp Mater Dei in Hillsboro, MO, working her way up to management. Frances eventually became a camp director for the YWCA at Camp Derricotte in Troy, MO. She also worked as a dental assistant, a seamstress, a gift wrapper, bookkeeper and accountant. She received a Bachelor of Arts from Webster University in 1980. In 1996, she fulfilled a life-long dream and opened Eclectica, an antiques store in south St. Louis.
Frances was bigger than her 4’10” stature in every way. She was much loved and will be missed.
