Michael S. Zboray

Michael S. Zboray, loving son, father and brother, cherished father-in-law, and proud grandfather, passed away on July 10, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on October 7, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois, Mike was a devoted family man whose life was defined by unconditional love, acceptance, and quiet strength. He left us too soon, and his absence leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who loved him.

Mike was the beloved father of three children: Kristen, Mike, and Matt. He was a cherished father-in-law to Annie and Ashley, and the proud grandfather of four grandchildren:  Matt, Chase, Brady, and Zoey. He is also survived by his twin brother, Charles, and his half-brother, Jim. He is also survived by his stepmother, Dolores Gasparini. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth Michaelson and Charles Louis Zboray; his sister-in-law, Julie Zboray; his sister, Carolyn Riney, and his nephew, Adam Zboray.

Mike spent the majority of his working career as a skilled welder and fabricator. With strong hands and a sharp eye for detail, he built and repaired countless structures and pieces that stood the test of time. His family was the center of his world, and he took immense joy in every moment spent with them– offering wisdom and support without judgment. Mike accepted everyone exactly as they were. He greeted the world with kindness and compassion, always ready with a listening ear, a witty remark, a helping hand, or words of encouragement. He made those around him feel valued and loved. When someone needed to talk, Mike made himself available without hesitation—often turning everyday conversations into cherished memories filled with laughter and insight. He loved to joke and share laughter that could brighten even the toughest days. He created space for honest conversations, offering guidance and encouragement without condition.

Mike shared a special place in his heart for his canine companions. His dogs brought him endless happiness, none more so than his favorite, Mollie Sue. Their moments together were among his greatest sources of comfort and happiness.

Mike will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him. He leaves behind the love and support he poured into his family, and will forever remain in their hearts. In accordance with his wishes, Mike was cremated. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Time is a silent thief, stealing moments we too often take for granted. In loving memory of Mike, he taught us to treasure every heartbeat, so we encourage everyone who knew Mike to cherish every previous moment we are given because life is too short.
