Doris Jean McLaughlin Hoffmann Burgherr, age 78, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026, in St. Louis.

Born on August 13, 1947, in St. Louis, Doris lived a life defined by resilience, a wonderful sense of humor, and an unwavering love for her family. Family was always at the center of her life, and she took great pride in her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and step-grandson. She celebrated their accomplishments, stood by them through life’s challenges, and created memories that will be cherished for generations.

Those who knew Doris will remember her strength, her laughter, and the love she shared with the people who meant the most to her. While she will be deeply missed, her legacy lives on through the family she loved so dearly and the countless lives she touched along the way.

Preceded in Death

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Matthias and Stella McLaughlin; her brothers, Matthew McLaughlin and James McLaughlin; her sister, Anna Slatton; her former husband, Robert Hoffmann; her husband, Kenneth Burgherr; and her grandson, Andrew Wilder.

Survived By

She is survived by her daughter, Bridget Wright (Paul Wright); her sons, Kevin Hoffmann (Courtney Hoffmann), Sean Hoffmann (Melanie Hoffmann), and Robert Hoffmann (Rosemary Gioia-Hamlin); her stepson, Kevin Burgherr; her grandchildren, Brianna, Elizabeth, Daniel, Maya, and Evie; her step-grandson, Zachary Burgherr; her great-grandchildren, Oliver, Liam, Ava, Becket, and Addi; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish her memory.

Doris’s Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at:
