Jeffery David (Jeff) Hewitt passed away on July 29, 2026, following an acute stroke. He left this world far too soon, surrounded by the family who meant everything to him.

Born on January 8, 1961, Jeff was the most wonderful husband to Tammy, whom he fondly called “Honey Bunny.” A devoted bonus-father to Tommy (Kimberly) Tiller and Taylor (Corey) Gall, he was also the proudest Papa to his six grandchildren: Jocelyn, Amelia, Thomas, Graham, Gabrielle, and Tatum. He poured his heart into being a steady, gentle presence in their lives.

A lifelong lover of gadgets and electronics, Jeff always had the latest and greatest. His most recent passion was drones—he made sure each of his grandsons had their own, delighting in their excitement as they explored the sky just like their Papa. Along with gadgets, he shared his wisdom, laughter, and an unshakable belief in his family.

Jeff adored his mother, Beverly Hewitt, and never missed a chance to connect with her. Night after night, you could find him on his stationary bike, phone in hand, catching up on her day—a daily ritual that was one of his most treasured constants. As an older brother, Jeff stood as a quiet pillar of strength and pride for Todd (Michelle), and he wore the title “Uncle Jeffy” with joy for Colby, Kenzie, and Cooper. His devotion to family extended to every call, every trip to Texas, and every ordinary moment he made extraordinary.

Jeff’s passion for cars and motorcycles lasted his entire life. Whether behind the wheel or on two wheels—buying, selling, or restoring—his enthusiasm knew no bounds.

Nine years ago, Jeff was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, and from that day forward, he was hell-bent on beating it. He faced every challenge with grit, humor, and an unbreakable spirit. In the way he lived, he modeled the art of turning headwinds into tailwinds—showing everyone that the forces pushing against you can be harnessed to carry you further than you ever imagined.

Jeff leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and the quiet magic of a man who made life sweeter for all who knew him. His absence is immeasurable, but the way he lived will continue to guide those he loved.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy Tiller-Hewitt; his bonus-children, Tommy (Kimberly) Tiller and Taylor (Corey) Gall; his six grandchildren, Jocelyn, Amelia, Thomas, Graham, Gabrielle, and Tatum; his mother, Beverly Hewitt; his brother, Todd (Michelle) Hewitt; his nieces and nephew, Colby, Kenzie, and Cooper; his parents-in-law, Lester and Gloria Hoormann; and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kevin (Carol) Hoormann, Andrea (Jerry) Curless, and Kathy (Marty) Akers.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Hewitt, and his grandparents.

A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or to Evelyn’s House via Tribute Giving at The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

He will be forever missed, forever loved, and forever our reminder that even the fiercest headwinds can give way to open skies.
