William “Rick” Richard Dunn Jr.
William “Rick” Richard Dunn, born March 6, 1973, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, passed away after a battle with acute myeloid leukemia.
Rick spent his teenage and young adult years in Florida before eventually settling in Missouri, where he lived for the remainder of his life. He worked for REDCO Holdings as a maintenance supervisor, a role well suited to a man who knew how to work with his hands, solve problems, and get things done.
In 2019, Rick married Celeste S. Baughan, with whom he shared the final years of his life.
Rick enjoyed playing the guitar and target shooting, but the things that defined him most were not his hobbies or his work. They were his character and the way he treated the people he cared about.
Rick could be a little rough around the edges, and he never pretended to be anything other than who he was. He was straightforward, fiercely loyal, dependable, and had a one-of-a-kind sense of humor. If you needed something, Rick was the kind of man you could depend on to show up, figure out what needed to be done, and take care of it.
Beneath that rough exterior was a genuinely good heart. Rick loved and spoiled his dogs, and animals and children seemed naturally drawn to him. Those who knew him understood that his loyalty ran deep. When Rick cared about someone, he cared about them completely.
Rick is survived by his wife, Celeste S. Baughan Dunn; his son, Noah William Dunn; his father, William Richard Dunn; his sister, Stephanie Jane Meeks and her husband, Kevin Dewane Meeks; his niece, Jaline Rose Furry; along with his extended family and the many friends whose lives he touched.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Rose Dunn.
Rick will be remembered for his straightforwardness, his unmistakable sense of humor, his loyalty, and his willingness to be there when someone needed him. He was a man you could count on, and his absence will be deeply felt by those who loved him.
He was loved, and he will live on in the stories, memories, laughter, and hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him.
