Bernice (Hoeh) Dussold, age 89, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on August 18, 2026.

Born on October 17, 1936, in St. Louis, Missouri, she was the beloved daughter of the late Edith and Ben Hoeh. Bernice graduated from Hadley High School, where she proudly served as president of her senior class. She spent several years working for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch as a newspaper carrier, delivering to distribution boxes and stores. Active in her community, she served for many years as an Alderwoman for the City of Floridell Hills and took great pride in maintaining neighborhood homes.

Bernice was a devoted parishioner of Corpus Christi and Holy Cross Catholic Churches. An avid gardener, her beautiful yard was filled with flowers and vegetables that she planted with her children. She was also an accomplished seamstress who made most of her children’s clothing, as well as a wonderful cook and baker who preserved her own home-grown fruits and vegetables.

A passionate sports fan, Bernice and her husband were lifelong supporters of the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues, holding a special affection for Adam Wainwright. She was an animal lover who cared deeply for many dogs and cats throughout her life. Above all, she cherished spending time and sharing activities with her family and friends.

Bernice is survived by her devoted husband of 70 years, John Dussold; her daughters, Diane Miller and Donna Cochran; her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many dear in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends, and mother in law.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Theresa Wells; her son, Mark Dussold; her sister Peggy; her sons-in-law, Stephen Miller and Dave Wells; and her parents, Edith and Ben Hoeh.
