Harold Neill Thompson

June 8th, 1942 – August 26, 2026

Harold Neill Thompson passed away at home on August 26th at the age of 84. A Field Artillery Lieutenant in the U.S. Army he served in the Vietnam War and was the recipient of a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Neill was the loving husband to Judith Kay Thompson (Dodillet), father to Kathryn Thompson and stepfather to Julie Voss (Frank), David (Kiu) Klauke and Bill Klauke, dear brother of Joyce Taylor, sister-in-law Barbara Thompson, uncle to Mary Reduzzi (Brian Swanson), Michelle Widener (Craig), Mindie Cocos (Steve), and Pam Dickerson (Stan). Preceded in death by parents Janet and Roy Thompson, brother James Thompson, brother-in-law Sam Taylor and niece Jennifer Maserang (David).

Neill blended a successful professional life with a vibrant passion for adventure and the outdoors. A natural leader, he served as captain of the football team at Ladue High School before graduating in 1959. He continued his football career at the University of Missouri- Columbia where he studied accounting and graduated in 1964. Neill went on to enjoy a prominent career as CFO of Siegel-Robert, Inc. and Multiplex.

An adventurer at heart, Neill’s love for travel began in high school with a bicycle trip across Europe. Throughout his life, he could often be found on the golf course, fly fishing, or spending time with his favorite gentle giants, his cherished Golden and Labrador Retrievers and Newfoundlands.

The family would like to thank Mercy Hospice and Martha’s Hands.

A private Celebration of Life will be held for close family.
