Rodney Travis

April 6th, 1952 – August 20th, 2026

Rodney L. Travis was born on the union of Elmo I. Travis and Earline Alexander in St. Louis, Missouri. He was educated in the St. Louis Public Schools. Rodney graduated from Sumner High School in 1972. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp and served for 10 years then the U.S. Army for 5 years. He retired from St. Louis City Corrections Department after a disabling stroke.

Lillie Ann Williams and Rodney were united in marriage on May 20th, 2012. She tirelessly cared for him until her death on January 13, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Steven Travis and sister Lydia Travis.

He is survived by his brother Sidney K Travis, dear cousins Cherrye Phillips and Diana Barnes, his daughter, Shonna W, granddaughters Shareese and Jhamia, and four great grandchildren. Faithful sisters-in-law Runette Travis and Rose Clay. As well as a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Upon his confession of faith in Christ, we commend his soul to our Lord Jesus.
