Uan Nguyen, age 58, of St. Louis Missouri , passed away peacefully on 07/27/2026 from a car crash.

Uan Tong Nguyen, born April 3,1968, passed away on July 27, 2026, after being struck by a wrong-way driver. He was an entrepreneur, lifelong martial artist, and someone who lived with an intensity that was hard to ignore. Uan came from humble beginnings, but through determination, ambition, and hard work, he built a life he was proud of and always pushed himself to keep growing.

Uan had a flame in him that never seemed to go out, whether he was building a business, training, chasing a new idea, or encouraging the people around him to become better. Martial arts was one of the biggest parts of his life, and he often said it saved him. He was inducted into the Kenpo International Hall of Fame in 2024 and tried to carry the values of discipline, respect, and perseverance into everything he did. He always encouraged his family to be the best they could and lived by the mindset, “Try and fail, don’t fail to try.” He was also silly, loved all foods, James Bond, and never missed a chance to make the people he loved laugh.

More than anything, Uan loved his children and wanted to give them the opportunities he did not have growing up. He worked hard, made sure they were always taken care of, and believed life was about balance (“What’s our family motto? “Work hard, play hard, train hard, eat hard, and love hard!”) He leaves behind his children, Sonja Nguyen and Destin Nguyen, along with a legacy that will continue through his family, his students, and the community he cared so deeply about.

His memorial will be held on October 3, 2026, from 12:00–2:00 p.m. at St. Louis Cremation, 2135 Chouteau Ave., St. Louis, MO 63103. In lieu of flowers, donations to Destin’s education and activity fund would be greatly appreciated.
