Nicholas “Nick” W. Culbertson, 56, of East Peoria, Il. passed away on Sunday September 27, 2026, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Nick was born on October 2, 

1969, in Fort Hood, Tx. To Clyde F. Culbertson and Marlene Culbertson. He was preceded in death by his father Clyde F. Culbertson and his maternal grandparents Clifford and Wanda M. Nixon as well as his paternal grandparents.

Nick is survived by his wife Laura Scully of East Peoria, Il, his stepsons Scott and Tim of New York state, his niece Jemah Culbertson, his brother Chris Culbertson, and his mother Marlene Culbertson of Chillicothe, Il.

In his final days Nick was surrounded by his wife Laura as well as his closest friends Jason Colby, Jamie Galindo, Steve Hoover, Scott Crawford, Ryan Orr, and of course, Tanya Colby who supported Nick and Laura during Nick’s final days.

Nick was a local freight truck driver for over 30 years, he loved playing golf, poker, racing mud trucks and stock cars. Nick was also an animal lover who enjoyed being at home with his cherished cat Tom.

Per Nick’s wishes, cremation rights have been accorded and there will be no services. If you would like to make a donation in Nick’s name, please do so at any animal shelter in your area.
