Roberta C. Stock

It is with great sadness that the friends and family of Roberta Carol Stock announce her sudden passing on September 14, 2026 in Saint Louis, Missouri. She was born on August 9, 1943, to her parents Virgil and Reta Stock (nee Reynolds) and was their only child.

Roberta was a woman of deep convictions and unwavering persistence. She was clearly determined to follow her own path, dedicating her lifework to serving and supporting individuals facing mental health challenges.

Driven by her commitment to service, she attended Barnes Hospital School of Nursing receiving a Diploma of Nursing. She continued her education related to psychiatric nursing at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, earning both her Baccalaureate Degree and Master of Science Degree in Nursing. Her academic pursuits culminated in earning her Advanced Nursing Practice credentials, specializing in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing. Over her lengthy career, Roberta worked in a variety of settings such as school of nursings, hospitals, longterm care facilities and community-based care. She combined her knowledge clinical expertise, and compassion to educate others, care  for individuals, and advocate for mental health.

Beyond her professional life, Roberta was a woman of faith and attended services at St. Alphonsus “Rock” Church. Roberta was loyal and supportive to friends. She was a voracious reader and an avid sports fan. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and preparing brunch for friends. Roberta had her unwavering opinions and enjoyed debating and discussing the politics news of the day. She planted flowers, including irises and roses. Her home and and heart revolved around her beloved dogs, Baci, Cannoli, and Missy Mae.

Roberta is predeceased in death by her parents and her best friend Marie Temmen.

She is survived by her cousin, Sue Morh, childhood friends, her friend Jim Temmen, and her circle of Saint Louis friends.
