Terry A. Terrill

Terrill, Terry Allen, of Chesterfield, died on Monday, April 8, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 62. Dear son of the late Wilburn and Gusta (nee Baker) Terrill. Loving husband of Kathy (nee Koser) Terrill. Beloved brother to Brenda Lawson and the late Dr. Gaylen Terrill. Much loved father of Scott (Kendra) Terrill, Sara Terrill, Andy Terrill, and Lauren (Daniel) Buck. Caring stepdad to Nikki and Jason Floeh. Doting grandfather to Jackson, Gavin, Skyler and Riley. Terry left behind many extended family and friends.

Terry grew up in Springfield, Missouri, graduating from Southwest Missouri State University in 1974 with a degree in education. A devoted employee of AT&T for over twenty two years, and Director of Operations for the past fifteen years at Product Development Corporation until his retirement in 2011, Terry was well known for finding any way he could to make a boring meeting interesting. He was loved by his coworkers, who remember him for his smiles, laughter, and outrageous antics in the office. Terry loved playing tennis, racquetball (where he met his wife, Kathy), and softball, and loved watching football, baseball and college basketball.

Terry died from thymic carcinoma and chose to have his body donated to Saint Louis University Hospital in hopes of gaining more understanding about this rare cancer. A memorial service will be held on Friday May 3, at 11:00 am at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 15800 Manchester Road, Ellisville, Missouri 63011. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Seasons of Hope at Missouri Baptist Medical Center, 3015 N. Ballas Road, St. Louis, Missouri 63131.

Please help us celebrate Terry’s life by attending a luncheon following the memorial at the home of Kathy Terrill, 15704 Cedarmill Drive, Chesterfield, Missouri 63017.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family and friends. I attended Central High School with Terry and was very proud to be one of his friends. I will always remember his beautiful smile and amazing personality! I am so very thankful that I got to see him at our class reunion in 2009. Another bright star has been placed in our heaven to watch over us. He will truely be missed by all that knew and loved him.

My condolences to Terry’s family at this time. In these adult years I didn’t get to see Terry much, but have many fond memories of him when we were kids during family gatherings at Christmas and Thanksgiving. I will always remember his smile and wonderful sense of humor.

Kathy and Family, as you know, Terry brought such joy wherever he was. I will miss his amazing smile and laughter. He was always such a genuine person no matter what the situation. Heaven has gained a man with such a loving soul. I know he is soaring above us spreading his light and love.

Terry was in HR when he hired me after being with DonTech for 11 years. I have many fond memories of Terry. Everytime he came to visit the station and he had that certain look in his eyes I knew he was sneding me on another tough assignment. He was laways there for his co worker and Terry is and always will be a dear friend to me.

Goodbye Terry, It was great knowing you. I first met you when you were 5 yrs. old. You were a great kid. I had
fun playing with you after I got off work.
We would never met if your mother had
not rented out rooms upstairs to
working men. I remember taking you
and Brenda and Gaylen for rides in my
    laundry truck. I remember opening
Christmas presents in your living room
    celebrating your 6th birthday. I’ll
forever have fond memories of you
    and your family…….Walter Guise….

There are not many from Central H.S. that I remember fondly. Terry is one of the few I have nothing but good thoughts for and feel blessed to have known him. So shocked and saddened to here of his passing. My thoughts and prayers are with all of his family. Even though I never met his family, I am sure they are as special and lovely as Terry was to everyone.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Terry.

He was one of the neighborhood kids that you could find at Washington Park around Clay/Pacific/Summit/Locust streets in Springfield. He was known for some of the antics he pulled. Such good memories.

Thoughts and prayers go out to Terry’s family.

My Dad (Tom Williams) coached the Nichols Pee Wees in Kiwansis Baseball in the summer of the late 1950’s & early 1960’s. Terry was our shortstop and was an excellent player. We played together in Washington Park & my Dad would pick him up for our games and/or practices sometimes. Our last two or three years, we had a team that hardly ever lost and were champions I know for the last two years when we played in the pony & midget leagues.

I so sorry to see that Terry has passed. I lost contact after we started Jr. High as our team was madeup of boys from all over the area and we all were at different schools. (Central, Parkview, Hillcrest, Willard, Ash Grove, etc.) Just a mixture of boys who truly loved to play ball.

My heartfelt condolences to the entire family.

I was sad to hear of Terry’s passing. I lived across the ally from Terry from 1959 to 1967 and we spent allot of time playing as kids in Washington Park. This included Kawanis baseball with the Nichols Pee Wee’s. We attended school together at Boyd elementary, Pipkin Jr High and Central high school where we played on the tennis team together. My family moved away in July 67. I went back and looked Terry up while he was at SMS. I again went back and talked to his Mom in the early 80’s. He had moved to the St.louis area and I was never able to connect again. I really regret this.He was a great guy and I know his family and friends will miss him.
