Sherry Herren Rohe

Sherry “Fozzle Tozzle” Herren Rohe, 66 of Oswego, IL, beloved mother, grandmother, family member, and friend, died peacefully in her sleep on Friday morning, May 24, 2013 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, Missouri.

Sherry was born on July 2, 1946 in Aurora, Illinois, daughter of Frank and Evelyn Herren, who informed Sherry at any early age that all 4th of July fireworks were in her honor. She attended school, lived, and worked in the greater Aurora area and spent the last decades of her life throwing wonderful parties on her deck in Oswego. Sherry and her first husband, Phillip Falk, had two children, Anthony (Tony) Falk and Tracy Kleist, who brought her much joy through the years. She was the proud grandmother of Kyle and Zachary and mother-in-law of Ted Kleist. Sherry married the love of her life, Joe Rohe, in 1978. Joe, however, died suddenly in 1985. He along with her folks and her brother, Ken, preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Anthony (Tony), daughter, Tracy, son-in-law Ted, grandsons Kyle and Zachary, and treasured extended family members and friends.

Sherry was born with a defective heart valve, which inspired her to live every day to the fullest. She was not just a hard worker, she was a playful woman who graciously welcomed all into her world. This gifted hostess loved everything that sparkled, food shows, Castle, dinner theater, Dancing with the Stars, Doris Day, spa days, fluffy cocktails, fireworks, the Chicago Bulls, and summertime.

A Joyous Celebration of Sherry’s Life will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Fox Valley Country Club, 2500 North Route 25 North Aurora, IL 60542 630 771-3366. You are invited to lift a glass and toast Sherry’s life with your memories. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to the American Heart Association. https://donate.americanheart.org/

I did not know sherry until the late 60’s when we both worked at Lyon metal products in Aurora. In the years that followed we became fast and furious friends! We took vacations together. In 69 we went to Las Vegas and had a ball then in 1970 she was my matron of honor. We lost contact when I moved to Wisconsin in 1974. We did not reconnect until just recent years but we lived within nine tenths of a mile in Boulder Hill for almost 20 years but did not know it. When I found Sherry again it took us only moments to resume our close friendship and I will miss her immensely. My sincere heartfelt sympathy to the family for their loss, and I pray that Sherry rest in peace in Gods loving and gentle care!
    With love Linda Smith

I did not know Sherry, but as the current pastor of her former church, I pray for her family and friends. May her soul rest in peace and may God bring comfort to her family and friends.

Sherry was a beautiful lady with a great sense of humor. She was a gracious hostess and held wonderful parties and get togethers. We met at Bethany of Fox Valley UMC and sat together each Sunday for a number of years. She will be missed.
