“Pat” Charles Patrick Fitzsimmons,age 89 years, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at The Baptist Home, Ironton, Missouri. He was born February 21, 1924 in the town of Meta, in Osage County, Missouri, the son of the late Charles H. Fitzsimmons and Bessie B. (Roberts) Fitzsimmons.

He married Norma (Small) Fitzsimmons on June 9, 1946, who preceded him in death on July 17, 2008. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rita Relling, and by a son-in-law: Rick Relling.

Pat was a veteran, having served in the United States Navy in the Korean War and World War II. After serving his country, he worked for and retired from the Railroad.

He is survived by a granddaughter: Nicole Relling (Don Jones), Troy, Missouri. One grandson: Cory (Melissa) Relling, Kansas City, Missouri. He is also survived by five great grandchildren: Jordan, Justin, Jayda, Maya, and Layla. He was a faithful husband, a loving father, a wonderful grandfather, and great grandfather.

A burial service will be held at Jefferson Barracks on Monday, August 12, 2013 at 10:30 am with full military honors. His wife Norma’s ashes will also be laid to rest alongside him at this time.
