Born on June 14, 1926 to Mr. Edward E. Williams and Mrs. Mary Josephine Hood-Williams of Edwardsville, Illinois. She had two brothers (Dr. Edward Williams and Dr. Carroll Williams) and three sisters (Miss Jessie Williams, Mrs. Mary Josephine Williams-Maclin and Mrs. Almira Williams-Massey). Mrs. Marian E. Nelson was married and separated in 1947 to Mr. Charles C. Nelson, Jr. of Madison, Illinois. They had one child (Rev. Carl V. Nelson, a retired Professional Educator). She resided in Edwardsville, Illinois and Alton, Illinois before moving to St. Louis, Missouri in the late 1950’s. In October 2010 she moved to the Delmar Gardens on the Green in Chesterfield, Missouri. She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Parish in St. Louis, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her father, her mother, three sisters and her two brothers. She departed this earthly life on Thursday, December 26, 2013 in Chesterfield, Missouri. She leaves to cherish her memories, her son (Rev. Carl V. Nelson of Indianapolis, Indiana), many relatives (cousins), a few friends and a whole host of associates and acquaintances.

A Mass will be offered for the repose of Marian’s soul on Saturday, February 22nd, 2014 at 4:00pm at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, 3014 Oregon Ave., St. Louis MO 63118 under the ministry of Rev. James E. Wuerth.
