Tommy Joe Lucas
Tommy Joe Lucas, loving father and grandfather, of O’Fallon, MO, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2014, at John Cochran Veterans Administration Medical Center, just one week after his 60th birthday. He was born on January 10, 1954, in Tuscumbia, MO, the son of James and Wanda Lucas, and was lovingly raised by his Aunt Sue and Uncle Wayne Lucas. Tommy proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1972-1976. He is survived by two sons; Tommy Joe Lucas, Jr., and Joseph Reed and three grandchildren; Thomas Damian Kastle Lucas, and Jeorgia Marie Reed. He is also survived by his brothers James “Jr.” Lucas, David Lucas, Dennis Lucas, and sisters Jane Lucas, and Sheila Freeman. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents James and Wanda; his Aunt Sue and Uncle Wayne, and his beloved canine companion Harley. A memorial service will be at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home Friday, January 24, 2014, at 2:00 P.M. Inurnment will be at Providence Cemetery, near Prairie Home, MO. Officiating will be Mr. Jack Bowlin. Visitation will be Friday, January 24, 2014, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Louis University Student Veterans Association Yellow Ribbon Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California, MO. Tommy would also have asked you to make time to give a hug to a veteran.
