Kelly Christine Pozzoli
Kelly Christine Pozzoli, age 33, of St. Louis ended her battle with cervical cancer on Tuesday, February 4, 2014. She was born to John F. Pozzoli and Kathy Pozzoli on July 22, 1980.
She graduated from Bayless High School in 1998 and went on to attend the University of Missouri at Columbia where she was a sister of Alpha Chi Omega sorority and member of the diving team. Kelly later earned a Master’s Degree in Creative Arts in Learning and Elementary Education from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She was an elementary school teacher and advocate for many organizations involved with women’s cancers. Kelly’s zest for life led her to many global destinations including Barcelona, Istanbul, Paris, Amsterdam, Rome, Switzerland, Austria, Prague and Germany. Her fearless attitude was exemplified by her daring endeavors like skydiving, canyon jumping, zip-lining, rock climbing and trapeze.
Some of Kelly’s inspiring fight was documented in her blog onebigexhale.wordpress.com, as a recurring guest on the Jeff Probst Show and in a documentary about HPV and cervical cancer. Her infectious, bright smile brought much happiness to those around her. A true warrior, Kelly is survived by her father, John F. Pozzoli, her mother, Kathy Pozzoli, her brother and sister-in-law, John R. and Julie Pozzoli, her nephews Nathan and Donovan and the love of her life, Joe Paske. Kelly has always been on my mind since I “met” her on Jeff’s show. There are a few people in this world that just leak love and light, and she is one of them.
I am so sad to see this when I googled her for an update. So very sorry.

Rest in beautiful peace surrounded by love and comfort. You will be missed!
So sorry to read of Kelly’s passing. I worked on The Jeff Probst Show, and always loved seeing her smile.
Kelly was an inspiriation to me at the time I was fighting breast cancer. I often think about Kelly and I was sad to read of her passing. She will always be in my heart.
Kelly was so inspiring! I loved her positive attitude & incredible personality. Thoughts & prayers with her family <3
Oh my gosh – I am so sad right now – ironic that it’s breast cancer awareness month and I decided to check on Kelly’s status today. I was a fan of the Jeff Probst show and watched/followed her constantly – shared her story and even tried to reach out to her via Facebook – I know she had her own battles but boy did she do it with grace, style, love and laughter….. I am so sad for her family and friends – she was such an inspiration. I went to Jeff’s last show in hopes of seeing HER – the fact that she was on was amazing – i cried ….. i am sending hugs and hopes of keeping her story out there … she was a true light of hope!!!
My tears of joy turned to be of sorrow. Being on the other side of the world(S/A) , we here see the delayed Jeff’s show. I was seeing Kelly for the first time when Jeff brought her back to his show for the second time. I was instantly swept away by her zest for life, her capturing laughter. Condolenses to the rest of the family. And Kelly now all the angels are in heaven. Rest in Peace.
I just learned of Kelly’s passing, and I am so saddened by this news. I knew her briefly when we were at Lesley together, but I will never forget her upbeat, positive attitude and beautiful smile. She was the kind of girl who inspired you to be a kinder, better person! She was so outgoing and warm. She spoke a lot of her family and her home town, St. Louis. She was also so kind to me when my own brother lost his battle to cancer in 2007, while we were at Lesley. I remember she wrote me a lovely note. I so wish I had kept in touch with her. Rest in peace, Kelly. You will be missed.
Was thinking about you today. Remember seeing you on the talk show. I have been cervical cancer free a year now, praying it doesn’t come back. Im sad to see you passed away. You seemed so full of life and adventure, I believe in the after life and im sure you are smiling and making everyone around you smile too. I was moved by your story, and just how positive you were. You are not forgotten. RIP ~?~
I never knew Kelly or heard of her story until today when I randomly came across her blog. She seems like such an inspirational woman and I wanted to find out more about her and found this page. Rest In Peace to this lovely woman she will continue to impact other people by her bravery.
