Marie Friederich (nee Catanzaro) passed away suddenly Saturday, July 5, 2014 at the age of 90.

Marie was born in St. Louis, MO on May 21, 1924 to John and Virginia Catanzaro. Beloved wife of the late Mearl Friederich, loving mother of Michael (Rosemarie), Martin (Elizabeth), Marilyn (John), the late Matthew (Teresa), Marcia (Jesse) and Mary Lisa (Matthew). Loving grandmother of Amy, Janece, Kevin, Krista, Gina, Mark, Michael, Jacob, MacKenzie, Sean, Lauren, Joe, Scott, Ian, Michael, Mikayla and Mia.

Marie was a fun-loving person who treasured her family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother of fourteen.

Marie enjoyed sports, loved to dance, play bingo and have a good time. She never refused an invitation to get up and go, she was a friend to everyone she met.

We are thankful for the many years we were blessed to have her in our lives.

Marie’s family expresses heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the Village North Rehabilitation and Nursing Center staff; Marie’s home for the past three years.

We are also grateful to the doctors, nurses and staff in the Critical Care ER at Christian Hospital NE for the care and compassion she received on the day of her passing.

Marie donated her body to St. Louis University Medical School. A private gathering will be held by family members at a later date.
