Marie H. Temmen

Marie Helen Temmen was born on August 22nd, 1941 in St. Louis, Missouri to her two parents, the late William and Lucille (nee Stoeklin) Temmen. She was the middle child and the only girl.
She graduated high school from St. Elizabeth’s Catholic School before moving on to earn her Bachelors degree in nursing from St. Louis University. Later in life, she returned to St. Louis University for her Masters in counseling. Over her long career in helping people, she worked at Barnes and the old Deaconess Hospital, but the majority of her working life was spent at St. Anthony’s Hospital primarily caring for psychiatric patients. She retired from St. Anthony’s and left behind many friends.
Marie also had a certificate in aromatherapy and had taught classes on the subject. She was very creative and loved crafts. She often impressed people with her homemade projects, stamps and paper-crafts as well as floral arrangements and other things that she would gift them with. She also loved to read and watch sports. She was, of course, an avid Cardinals fan. She loved animals and had many furry friends throughout her life. She was devoted to her lifelong Catholic faith and had been a member of St. Alphonsus for many years. Most of all, Marie will be remembered for her fine sense of humor, her wittiness, her loyalty to her friends and as someone who always wished the best for everyone.
Marie went home to Glory on October 11, 2014 peacefully in her home, surrounded with love. She leaves behind her two brothers; Jim (Mary) Temmen and Donald (Josue) Temmen; her beloved nieces and nephews; Elizabeth, Donald, Jean and Deborah; her best friend Roberta Stock; her furry companion; Cannoli the dog; and many friends.
