Arthur Elmer Swope

Arthur Elmer Swope passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Oct. 30, 2015 at the age of 92. Art is now reunited with his loving wife, Jean, and his beloved daughter, Beverly (Stover). He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Grace, his son, Karl (Karen). He was a dear Grandfather to Christopher, Jeff, Leslie (Todd), Luke, Pam (Jerry), and Vickie. Great-Grandfather to Aislie, Andrew, and Reilly. He was friend to many. Prior to retirement, Art worked as a minister and as a Project Manager for Monsanto and ICI Americas. In his role with Monsanto, he lived throughout the United States and in Brazil. In every role he served, he brought his love and zeal for God. In retirement, he served with Parkway Prison Ministries, and helped build churches throughout Missouri. He was always willing to share his testimony and lend his time and talent to further God’s work. He will be missed by many.

A Memorial Service for Art will be held on Tuesday, November 17 at 3PM at Castlewood Baptist Church, 1214 Kiefer Creek Rd., Ballwin, MO 63021. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to Lottie Moon Ministries. Art saw the impact that the missionaries had while living in Brazil and truly believed that they made a difference in increasing God’s flock.
