Lucy Marie Kleinsorge

Lucy Marie Kleinsorge was carried away by angels into the open arms of Jesus Christ on November 12th with her loving family by her side. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 12, 1941. Lucy is survived by her loving husband, Carl, and children; Stephen Ball (Elizabeth), Michele Metcalf (Troy) and LeeAnn Ball; her dear grandchildren; Kalee and Ian Ball, Natalie Metcalf and Hanahaven Ball; her brother, Joey Marshall (Lisa); brothers-in-law, Ralph Kleinsorge (Linda) and Ray Kleinsorge (Jane); sister-in-law, Dolores Kleinsorge; nephews and nieces, Matthew and Sara; Anna; and Paul (Teagan); and great nephews and nieces, Aurora, Eric and Brennan.

Lucy was known for her passion for books and read daily. She understood the value of hard work, determination, and education and believed that if you have the will to trust in the strength in the Lord, you will find the way to resolve any obstacle. Lucy was a woman beloved by many friends and was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother not only to her husband, children, and grandchildren, but also to others who were friends of her family, neighbors, and those whom she met during her adventures in life.

Lucy worked as a civilian secretary for the U.S. Air Force and as a secretary for Brucker & Associates Engineering. She graduated from the St. Louis Police Academy and worked full time for the Fenton Police Department and the Brentwood Police Department in a Reserve capacity. In most recent years, she was actively involved with the Antique Radio Collectors & Historians (ARCH) of Greater St. Louis, serving as their treasurer for many years.

Special thanks to Margie, Francine, Katie and Mercy Hospice for their attention, care and comfort to Lucy. She continues to show her unselfish love, care for others, and faith in Jesus Christ by gifting her body to the National Body Donor Program for future research and education to medical students with the continued hope to comfort, assist, and heal others.

A Mass to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, November 16th at 1:00 PM at St. Ann Catholic Church, 7530 Natural Bridge Rd, St. Louis, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Visiting Angels of Webster Groves, 7961 Big Bend Blvd, Webster Groves, MO 63119 (314) 962-5700.

Lucy always had a smile and a kind word. She was always fun to be around. I’ll miss her at family gatherings. Prayers of comfort and peace for Carl and family until we’re reunited with the Father.

Lucy was an awesome woman and friend. I remember the last time I spoke to her she upbeat and letting nothing get her down. She had this positive attitude about her illness. She said I’m just taking it one day at a time. I’m so glad I had her as my friend and will miss her. Carl, it was a blessing from God that brought you and Lucy together with the family. I will keep all of you in my prayers and may God comfort and give you peace.
