Dannie E. Young
Dannie E. Young passed away peacefully at home on March 21, 2016 with his loved ones by his side.
Dannie was born on March 23, 1958 in St. Louis to the late Bennie Young and Lula Watkins. He grew up in St. Louis, attending King High School and graduating in 1976. He attended Forest Park Community College for a short time under a scholarship that he earned for his skills at tennis. Later in life Dannie worked as a butcher, but ended up working at Channel 24 as a camera operator.
Dannie was known for being a “gentle giant”. He was loving and kind. He will be deeply missed.
Dannie is survived by his beloved sisters Flora Young of St. Louis, MO and Sherelly Young Smooths (and dear brother-in-law John Smooths) of St. Louis, MO; his nieces and nephews Shelauna, Leon, Kavita, Keylla and Korey; special friend James; many cousins and a host of friends. His parents, and one nephew-Kellen, preceded him in death.
Memorial services will be held by the family at a later date.

May you find solace in knowing that Danny was loved by all that knew him. He was a giving and humble man. That loved his sports, his family and God. He stepped in when his father and mother passed on at a young age and cared for his sisters in any way he could. He was a awesome brother and friend.
