Matthew J. Layton
Matthew J Layton, 53, passed away Wednesday, May 11th at Mercy Hospital St. Louis. Precious son of the late John T. Layton, Jr. and Mary Jean (Groark) Layton; dear brother of Kim (Jim) Kraft, Maureen (Mark) Lorbert, and Mike (Arleen) Layton. He is predeceased by sister, Janet and brother, Mark. Beloved uncle of Chris (Ginny) Lorbert, Laura (Jimmy) Mott, Joe (Kelley) Lorbert, Kim and Megg Lorbert and Angela Layton. Despite his health issues, he was filled with gratitude for each day he was given.
Matt donated his body to the St. Louis University School of Medicine so others may learn to heal the sick.
A celebration of his life and memorial mass will be held Saturday, May 21st at 1:00 pm at St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Kirkwood; reception immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org or PO Box 1000 Dept. 142 Memphis TN 38148-0142) in Matt’s memory would be appreciated. Much love…
