Daniel Eugene Carver
Daniel (Dan) Eugene Carver, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend left this world but not our hearts on Friday, August 12, 2016. He was born on September 25, 1932 to Clyde Glenwood Carver and Elsie Lillian Ennor Carver in St Louis, MO. Their family of 11 children also included Clyde “Glenn” Jr, William, James, Thomas, Elsie “Sissy”, John, Glenda, Helen, Carolyn and Norma Jean “Jeannie”. They and their families continue the tradition of God and family first. They are known for a loving heart, an infectious laugh, lots of dancing, creative storytelling and unreserved affection for one another.
Dan is survived by Joann Elizabeth Fallon Carver, his wife and partner of over 65 years. She was his best friend, greatest support, biggest comfort and deepest love.
Loving father of Daniel (Marie) Carver Jr, Connie (Barry) Sharp and Edward (Cindy) Carver. Grandfather of Patty Geusz (Gene Wondell-Fiance), Daniel (Trisha) Carver III, Colleen Carver, Kelsey Carver and Kristen Carver. Great Grandfather of Destiny Geusz, Tara Turnbough, Taylor Carver and Daniel “Cash” Carver IV. As a father, grandfather and great grandfather, he was the one that no matter how old we were, he was always there to catch us if we were falling. Simply put, he was amazing!
Dan leaves behind many generations of friends who will miss him greatly. Joann and family would like to recognize his very closest buddy, George Pitts. Together, their mission was to visit many taverns and bars so they could strategize the different kinds of work they did for family at no cost. By the way, they always completed their mission!
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Contributions in Dan’s memory can be made to the de Greeff Hospice House at 10024 Kennerly Road, St Louis, MO 63128. Joann and family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to the wonderful staff and volunteers at the de Greeff House for all their kindness and support.
Mr. Carver was truly one of a kind. I found him to be the largest presence in the room! I always enjoyed his jokes and his laughter. His love for his family was always present and heart warming to those of us around him. He will be genuinely missed by many. Love and hugs to Joann and the entire Carver family.
Grandpa Carver was such a great joy to everyone he met, he could light up any room he entered. His love for his family was very evident and admirable. He will be greatly missed.

The world has lost a great man. As a child Uncle Dan was bigger than life. I always remember him standing there talking to my dad jingling the change in his pocket. He would smile at me and call me “pretty girl”. I will always remember him riding the carnival rides with me even though he was too big. His laugh was larger than life. His smile lit up every room. His love for all his family is unending. I can only imagine the crowd at the pearly gates when he got there. My heart breaks for Aunt Joann, my cousins and all my family. May God bring us all comfort.
What a beautiful tribute to a wonderful man. Rest in peace Uncle Dan.
The video was so touching and to be able to see him as he change and grew older. But to me I’ll always remember him as the uncle who always made us laugh and jingling his change. His family was a huge part of my childhood yes I had many uncles
but some touch your heart more than others because they always showed you love and was around you as a child, on the hill was a lot of family gatherings and what a blast.Uncle Dan just know you were loved by so many and will be missed.
To Entire Carver Family,
Another legend has left this earthly life.
Oh my how they are rejoicing and partying in heaven today!! As we miss them here on earth we will all be together again someday. Love to all-
Such a beautiful video. Uncle Dan was an amazing man that was the life of the party , always. Much love and prayers to Joan and all the kids and grandkids. He will be greatly missed. I hope he tells all those gone before him how much we all love and miss them.
Mine and many other people’s hearts felt wounded at hearing Dan has passed on to glory. My memories flash back to the HiLo Club, the men of the family playing bottle caps in alleys, visiting Dan and Joan and playing with Danny and Connie (Eddie was just a baby then). All good memories of a lovely and loving family. God’s peace and comfort to all at this difficult time.
I was so heartbroken to learn of Uncle Dan’s passing. He was always so boisterous and full of life. I loved to just sit and hear him talk and tell stories. He always showed such love and compassion. I am so sorry for your incredible loss Aunt Joanne, Little Danny and Family, Connie and Family and Eddie and Family. Losing a loved one is so hard. You all have been on my mind this week. I love you all.
I just now learned of Dan’s death which was a shock to me. I always loved being in the company of my dear cousins; Dan and Joann. I extend my deepest sympathy to Joann, Danny Jr, Connie, and Eddie as well as extended family members. May God’s peace and Mercy always be with you. Please know that he now rests in the Loving Arms of our Precious Savior; Jesus Christ. My thoughts and Prayers are with you all. With much love, Cousin Bob and Cousin Judy (Ray) Butler.
Of all the Dad’s in the world, I got the “Very Best One”. Happy 85th Birthday Dad!
