Janet Elizabeth Williamson
Janet Elizabeth Williamson (nee Reinhardt), age 83, died peacefully at home in St. Louis on October 30, 2016.
Survived by daughters Catherine (Paula Gianino) and Sherry, and granddaughters Elizabeth and Katherine. Preceded in death by beloved husband of 62 years, Joseph R. Williamson MD, brothers Wayne Reinhardt (Tina) and Paul Reinhardt (Clara). Beloved family member and friend to many, she always had time to listen and opened her heart to many people in her life.
Janet received her degree in Occupational Therapy from Washington University and had a rewarding career at Jewish Hospital in St. Louis as head of the OT Department. Janet volunteered at the International Institute of St. Louis and at English as a Second Language. Her passion was gardening, and teaching young people about native wild flowers, trees and planting prairies. Her award-winning garden was often featured on the premier garden tours of St. Louis. She was a member of the Parks and Recreation Department in Town and Country and worked tirelessly at Longview Park. Janet was a great supporter of Planned Parenthood and worked as an escort defending the reproductive rights of women.
Janet was a preacher’s daughter from Kansas. She dedicated her life to promoting equality and helping people from every walk of life.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday November 12, 2016 at 10:30 am, at The Willows at Brooking Park, 211 South Woods Mill Road, Chesterfield, Missouri.
