Josephine Dorough

img_9621Josephine Frances Dorough (nee Maniaci) of O’Fallon, MO passed away at home on December 21, 2016, attended by her loving family. She was 88 years old.

Josephine was born in St. Louis, Missouri on January 14, 1928 to the late Louis and Concetta (Genovese) Maniaci. She was preceded in death by her late husband Joe Donald Dorough, her daughter Concetta Dorough Hartt, brother Vito Maniaci and sister Louise Maniaci Price. She is survived by three children, Joseph Donald Dorough (Donna), Louis Geno Dorough (Patricia), Michele Dorough Werner (Mark); one brother, Pete Maniaci (Linda); seven grandchildren, Scott Dorough (Bridget), Rebecca Dorough Simmons (Derek), Andrew Dorough D.C.M., Allison Dorough Williams (Sam), Jared Werner (Jennifer), Nicholas Werner (Maria), Alex Werner; five great-grandchildren, Ethan Rodden, Brynne Dorough, Jace Werner, Greyson Simmons and Charlotte Dorough, along with two additional great-grandkids expected to arrive in the summer of 2017. She was also a loving aunt and friend of many.

Josephine gifted her body to science through St. Louis University Medical School, as did her late husband Joe. Josephine’s family wishes to express their gratitude to the St. Luke’s Hospice Care Team for their support in her final days.

Services: A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in her honor on Monday, December 26th, 2017 at 10:30 am in the chapel at the Immaculate Conception Church of Dardenne, 7701 State Hwy N, O’Fallon MO 63368 (corner of Hwy N and Hanley Rd.). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) or the Humane Society of St. Louis (www.hsmo.org).
