Victoria Ann Lanns
Gone But Not Forgotten
Victoria Ann Lanns (nee Domino) was born August 27, 1940, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Reveille and Mary Jane Domino. Victoria was the youngest of thirteen children. Even as a child they knew she would be very special. Victoria went to public school, where she realized her charisma was too distinguished for the education they provided, and left school to pursue her goals. Victoria relocated to Saint Louis, Missouri in the mid 1950’s to start a family.
Victoria spent her career providing nursing care for the elderly as a private duty nurse in their homes, and residential facilities. She developed lasting relationships with her clients and took pride in ensuring their safety, comfort, and security. She retired from the profession in 1975 but continued to utilize her skills by ministering to the needs of family members.
Victoria proved to be an inspiration in our lives through the years. Her personality and spunk outshined even her beautiful smile. Her strong will, sharp tongue, and quick wit kept everyone on their toes. Victoria will truly be missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reveille and Mary Jane Domino, and her twelve siblings. Victoria leaves behind her four children, Brenda Brown, Michael Lanns, Melvin Lanns Jr., and Walter Lloyd; five grandchildren, Dana Shaeffer, Anthony Brown, TyRhonda Williams, Melvin Lanns III, and Terrell Lanns; and a host of loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
A private ceremony will be held on January 6th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Louis Cremation Services, 2135 Chouteau Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63103.
In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association, 9370 Olive Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63132.
Through this heartache, I wish the entire family and extended family the strength to be at peace with this home going. Although she will be missed, she lived a long life full of love and fulfilled dreams. Be at peace with the knowledge she went home knowing she impacted many lives and left this world embraced in love.
