Maureen “Reenie” Gleba

Gleba, Maureen ‘Reenie’, of St. Charles, MO died comfortably at home surrounded by family on Saturday, January 28, 2017, at the age of 75. She was the loving wife of and is preceded in death by Walter Gleba; beloved daughter of the late William F. and Audrey Gertrude Lister (Huesgen); devoted mother of Jane (Adam Fairfield) Gleba and Susan (Joseph) Mikulas; treasured grandmother of Lily Hall, Ruby Mikulas, and Jessica Bissell; dear sister of the late Geraldine (Donald) Fitzgerald, the late Delores (William) Soete, the late Loretta ‘Retsie’ (Russell P.) Nunnally, Shirley (Frank) Luebbert, and Thomas (Nancy) Lister. Reenie is also survived by many nieces and nephews, other relatives and countless friends.

Previously of Florissant, MO, she was active in almost all aspects of the family’s home parish, St. Christopher’s Catholic Church, for many years. She worked as St. Christopher’s Parish Secretary for over 15 years. Reenie volunteered her reknowned cooking skills to cater for Helping Hands and Meals on Wheels, and donated to charities such as ASPCA, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, and the Veteran’s Association. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and had a list of “favorite TV shows” that filled the DRV so she never missed an episode. She took great pride in her faith and was devote in prayer to Jesus.

Her shining personality and boisturous laugh lit up the room. She was a true confidant to many and friend to anyone in need. She will be missed by everyone whose life she touched.

The visitation will be held on Wednesday February 1st from 5:00-9:00 PM in the St. Peters Chapel of St. Louis Cremation, 320 Jungermann Rd, 63376. Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family in care of Susan Mikulas in lieu of flowers.

Absolutely beautiful and so very true! That laugh, I will always remember that laugh. As I sit here at work, ugly crying at my desk, I also smile hearing that laugh. Soozi, Jane, family, I am so terribly sorry for your loss.

Heaven will never be the same! Hopefully, Reenie is still singing the song that memorialized my name (Mary Ellen), which Jane created. I hear her singing it now.
I remember her fruit cakes, her borsch soup and her forever e-mails. Love always to her family. Mary Ellen
