Stephen Henry Acree
Stephen Henry Acree
Fortified with the sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Steve died February 9, 2017.
He is preceded in death by Arlene Acree (Mother) and James Acree (Father.) Dear brother of Jacqueline Quigley (Kevin), Robert, Mark (Linda,) Doug (Terry) Acree and Patricia A. Schelinski (William) and many more cousins, nieces and nephews.
Steve was a kind and jolly person who enjoyed good conversation with friends, family and even strangers. “Hoss” was the family nickname given to Steve, as he was truly a “gentle giant.” Steve volunteered for many causes throughout the years, including spending several weeks stacking sandbags during the flood of 1993. He enjoyed doing his part for any worthy cause when he was up to it.
Steve grew up in Glendale and went to grade school at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic School in Webster Groves and attended Webster High School. He worked at Algonquin Golf Club and had a small lawn business for many years, with most of his customers in the Webster/Kirkwood/Glendale area.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 676 W. Lockwood Avenue, Webster Groves, MO 63119 on March 24, 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul-Archdiocesan Council of St. Louis, 1310 Papin Street, St. Louis, MO 63103
