Gertrude Like was born on November 13, 1935 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was the beloved daughter of Ida and William Johnson, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by by one son, Cortez Like, a granddaughter, Vanessa Like, and sister, Margaret Darden.

Gertrude passed away peacefully at her home in St. Louis, Missouri on Monday, February 27, 2017 with her loved ones by her side.

Her greatest joy in life was her family. She devoted all of her time and energy to them and her love was repaid in kind by those who knew her. Her light in this world will be sadly missed.

She leaves behind to mourn her passing: her five children; Charlesetta, Lorraine, Robert, Patrina and Risa; a sister, Bobbie Jean Everett; two brothers, William Johnson,, Jr. and Melton Johnson; 18 grandkids, Regina, Valerie, Latunya, Antwon, Andrew, Robert, Raquel, Jazmine, Kevin, Angel, Trinity, Carlotta, Derek, Derriona, Andrea, Markeisha, Cortez and Deandre; as well as a slew of great-grandkids, other relatives and many friends.

A visitation will be held for her on Friday, March 3, 2017 from noon until 3:00 pm at the chapel of St. Louis Cremation, 2135 Chouteau Ave., St. Louis MO 63103. All are welcome to attend.
