Vernesia Williams
On September 2, 1959 Vernesia Michelle Williams was the second child born to the Union of Maurice and Minnie Hayes Sr. whom both have preceded her in death. Vernesia gave her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized by Reverend J.C. Hopkins of Church of the Living God Temple #29 of Richmond Heights.
In 1977, she graduated from the Maplewood-Richmond Heights School District. Soon after she met Tony Williams, while attending Forest Park St. Louis Community College, whom also has preceded her in death and they married in July of 1983. Vernesia worked many jobs to support her family until in 2004 when she was not able to do so due to her health.
From then on Vernesia took pride in nurturing her grandchildren. They shared a very special bond. Vernesia had a very infectious laugh and personality. She was very hard working and caring of those that were close to her. Vernesia also shared an unbreakable bond with her brother Maurice Hayes Jr., of who was surely there waiting for her when she made her heaven bound journey.
Vernesia leaves to cherish her loving memory two daughters; Vernetra M. Williams (Darrin) and Amber J. Williams. Six grandchildren, Riva S. Cater, Nala K. Shaw, Niko K. Williams, Vernasia D. Carter, Noah K. Austin and baby Navi Austin. She has a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will truly miss her bold personality.
