Shirley J. Woodard
Shirley Jean Woodard of St Louis, Mo daughter of the late L.D. and Alberta Robinson, passed away on May 1, 2017 at Mason Pointe, in Chesterfield Missouri. Shirley was born in Shannon Mississippi on July 24, 1937.
Shirley worked as a sewing instructor, certified nurse assistant, seamstress, and as a fabricator for McDonald Douglas. After caring for her family and grandchildren in St. Louis, Shirley moved to Las Vegas in 1997 and continued caring for her grandchildren. While in Las Vegas, Shirley worked in the home healthcare field and cared for some very notable Las Vegas celebrities. Her patients always expressed their appreciation for Shirley’s honesty and sincerity in caring for them.
Shirley leaves behind; two lovely daughters, Shelby Whitfield of St. Louis, MO and Karen (Ronald) Stanfield of Las Vegas, NV; four grandsons, Jarrod Rooks, Richard (Brittney) Whitfield, Ronald Stanfield II, and Grant Stanfield; five granddaughters; Kesia Rooks, Sophia Rooks, JeNean (Martin) McConnell, Rachel Whitfield and Kindra Stanfield; six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Shirley will deeply be missed. She gave of herself freely, she never looked for praises or expected anything in return, she just lived her life loving on the most important treasures God gave her, her “family”.
A Memorial Celebration of Shirley’s life will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at the Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel, 5200 Lucas and Hunt Road, St. Louis, MO 63121. Please view the slideshow and leave condolences for her family below.
