Braddock Chambliss
On Tuesday, July 4, 2017 God called Braddock Chambliss-his servant, home-receiving him into his Kingdom of everlasting peace and joy.
Braddock was born to the union of Press Chambliss and Percy Watts-Chambliss in Tillman, Mississippi. When Braddock reached adulthood, he left Mississippi and moved to New Orleans, LA. He received his education through the Mississippi Public School System where he excelled in his studies. As a child and young adult Braddock worked on his family farm. Later in his life, Braddock started working in the carpentry industry as a roofer. Although his career placed him at countless construction companies, he was well known for working at Ellis Roofing Company, LLC for many years before he retired.
Braddock was a devoted father and friend; he enjoyed hanging out with his long-time childhood friend Joe Lee. In his leisure, he also loved to garden in his back yard. He was good at growing tomatoes and okra, barbequing on the grill and working on his house on Apple Street before he became too ill to do these things anymore.
He is preceded in death by his father Press Chambliss; mother Percy Watts-Chambliss; 6 older siblings; and son Braddock Chambliss, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory: son Brent Chambliss; 3 daughters, Mary Bruce-Toles (Jesse), Bradlin Jacob-Simms (Kevin), and Lynette Fields (Andrus); grandchildren, Louis Bruce, Braddock Chambliss III, Dwayne Kennedy, Jr., Karter Simms, Andrielle Fields, Latasha Scott, and Alexander Fields; and host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 10:30 am at the Marriott Courtyard, 2 Galleria Blvd., Metairie LA 70001.
I love you daddy! I miss you everyday. I send prayers to our famy.
