Michael R. Byer

Michael R. Byer, 55, of Red Bud, passed away Monday, August 21st, 2017 at his home.

Michael was born on December 1st, 1961, in Red Bud, Illinois. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ruma, Illinois. He worked in construction most of his life and was also an avid gardener.

He is survived by his parents; Patricia and Ellery Byer of Red Bud, 2 brothers; Dean (Vanessa) Byer of Lewisburg, Tennessee and Kevin (Elaine) Byer of Red Bud, 1 sister; Lisa (Michael) Jauernig of Columbia, 4 daughters; Melissa Byer-Amann of St. Louis, Amanda (Steven) Braun of Hecker, Michelle Byer of Murphysboro, Alexandra (Jeffrey) Brockmeyer of Steeleville; 1 son; Austin Byer of Steeleville, and 4 grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his birth father, Donald Hanebutt; Paternal Grandparents; Reuben and Flossie Byer and Harry and Lottie Hanebutt; and Maternal Grandparents; Wilbert and Valeria Roesemeier.

A tree will be planted in his memory at the edge of his property. The memorial service and planting of the tree will be held at his home on Sunday, September 3rd, 2017 at 2 p.m.
