Janice M. Piersol

Janice M. Piersol (nee Gwaltney) went home to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, September 6, 2017. She was 88 years old.

Janice was the loving wife of the late Frank D. Piersol; beloved mother of Karen (Bruce) Boswell and Jeff (Betty) Piersol; proud grandmother of the late Erin Fitzgerald, Tom Fitzgerald, Kevin Fitzgerald, Jamie Fitzgerald, Lindsay (Sean) Powers and Jeff Piersol; great grandmother of 11; sister of “Johnny” Porter H. Gwaltney, Jr. and the late Roger B. Gwaltney; special friend of “Scotty” Harrison B. Scott; aunt, cousin and friend to many.

A memorial service will be held at John Knox Presbyterian Church, 13200 New Halls Ferry Rd., Florissant, MO, 63033 on Saturday, October 7th at 11am with visitation at 10am. She will be buried privately at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery alongside her husband Frank.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society appreciated.

    She was always so pleasant in a crowd. She stood out because of her cheerful personality. Will miss her at future family affairs and that upbeat smile.

    Janice, one of my childhood “mothers” on Acredale, was a special lady. I will always remember her gentle voice & kind spirit. I have fond memories of her that will always be with me. Love & prayers to Karen & Jeff & the entire family in this difficult time

    Jan was our neighbor over 40 years. She was always kind and considerate. In the years we lived near her I never heard a mean comment from her. She will be missed.
