James J. Corbett

James J. Corbett of Ballwin, Missouri died Sunday, October 8th, 2017, at the age 71. Jim died with his beloved high school sweetheart and wife of 51 years,Virginia “Marie” nee LaPresto at his side.

Fortified by the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Jim was the dear son of the late William and June Corbett. He was the father to three children, James (Angela); Christine (David) Loudon, Craig (Katie) and the proud grandfather to Sabrina Loudon, Leanna (Paul Rosenthal) Loudon, Kirstyn Corbett, William Corbett, and Jack Corbett

He was the dear brother-in-law of Patricia LaPresto, Louise (Ray) Gibson, Terry (Larry) Davies; Dear uncle to Dawn Gibson, Julie (Chris) Hoff, Scott (Kate) Davies, and Brad Davies; Great uncle to Lydia, Oliver, Colton, Norah, Michaela, Michael, and Paul; Dear great great uncle to Jayden.

He was an electrical estimator by trade and a proud former member of the IBEW, Local 1. Jim was associated with the electrical business for nearly his entire adult life, working for several different contractors along the way.

He was an accomplished soccer player in his prime, who could run like the wind, with a nose for the goal. He was an overall sports enthusiast who loved watching a game as much as participating within it. He could run by you on the soccer pitch and out drive you on the 1st tee.

He leaves behind many friends and extended family and will be missed by all who knew him.

    Have not seen Jim in years but I do remember He was a good guy. Played soccer with him was just a pleasure to be around.

    Some of my fondest memories of my SG days revolve around Mr. Corbett. Whether it was rides to practice or the golf course he always had a way of making us laugh while keeping us humble.
