Fortified with the Sacraments, Anita was received by her Savior on November 23, 2017 after sudden illness. Born in St. Louis June 23, 1954 to Violet (Braswell) Shannon Michaud and Billy J. Shannon. Beloved wife of the late Kenneth J. “Bear” Renaud of Perryville, Missouri, and mother of Miguel “Mike” Renaud. Anita was preceded in death by her mothers, Vi Michaud and Catherine (Klein) Shannon. Dear sister of Kathleen Shannon (John Skarin) of Bridgeton, Missouri, Paula Lewis (Ted) of Brigham City, Utah, George Shannon of Bethesda, Maryland, Marguerite Niehoff (Bill) of St. Peter’s, Missouri and the late Alfred Michaud, Jr. of Michigan. Aunt to Matthew, Michael, Amanda, Abby, Katie, Anne, Mary, Grace, Jason and Rachel and great-aunt. Anita loved pets and music, and was a very talented artist and writer. She never met a stranger – her compassion, humor and generous spirit will be missed.
A private memorial celebration gathering with close family and friends will be held at a later date.
Like most siblings, we constantly tormented each other. But protected one another. Ani was a jolly, smart, brave & big-hearted woman. She was incredibly devoted to her family, friends and beliefs. My little Sissy will be greatly missed.
