Darrel V. Stockinger, 78, Cedar Hill
Darrel V. Stockinger, 78, of Cedar Hill passed away on January 15, 2018 at SSM Health St. Clare Hospital in Fenton. Darrel was born on October 14, 1939 in Jonesboro, Arkansas, the son of the late Sylvia (Herrington) and Bedford Stockinger. He was a retired Army Major, Veteran of 2 tours in the Vietnam War and the Iranian Revolution, helicopter pilot and paratrooper. He was a Life Member of AMVETS, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5331, Shriners Organization, Masonic and Elks Lodge, Cedar Hill, MO. Darrel was a John Wayne and Dallas Cowboys fan who was an avid motorcycle rider, dedicated Patriot Guard rider, and enjoyed RV traveling.
Darrel is survived by his wife: Gloria (Roth) Stockinger of Cedar Hill; one son: Lance (Angela)Stockinger of High Ridge; one daughter: Christine Ney of High Ridge; one sister: Carolyn (Raymond) Aumann of St. Louis, one brother: Timothy (Pamela) Stockinger of Panama City Beach. Darrel also leaves behind, seven grandchildren: Jean (Travis) Boyd, Lance (Rachel) Stockinger, Beau Bailey, Joshua Stockinger, Jonathon (Sarah) Bailey, Brandon Stockinger and Zachary (Savannah) Stockinger. Nine great-grandchildren: Tyler, Kaitlyn, Dylan, Brayden, Madison, Zane, Adalyn, Zoey, Trinity and many more friends and relatives.
Full Military Honors Service was held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Camp Hope 3314 Raby Road, Farmington, MO 63640.

I knew Darrell as a boss and friend. He was a true Patriot who you could always count on. We all will miss him. RIP, brother.
