She is survived by her son Tom Sullivan and daughter Peggy Sullivan, four grandchildren, Katie (Sebastian) Lacey, Rob Bonsack, Sam Sullivan-Barrale and Luke Sullivan-Barrale, and two great-grandchildren, Miles and Meara Lacey.

She was predeceased by her siblings Leonard (the late Mary) Spalding, Bob (the late Evelyn) Spalding, Walter (the late Dorothy) Spalding, Lucille Korte, Charlotte (Martin) Gruettemeyer and Jim (M.J./Margaret) Spalding.

Jean was happiest when spending time with her family and friends and when helping others. She was very involved in the Catholic parishes to which she belonged and volunteered in many capacities. She loved travelling, both with her family and with her seniors group. Her greatest joy in life was being a grandmother and spending time with her grandchildren, always attending their activities and events.

Our beloved mom, nana, sister, aunt, cousin and friend lived life with gusto and overcame many tragedies with grace and courage. She served as an incredible example of strength with an infinite capacity for love and fun. We will always be grateful for her support and all the happy times we shared with her.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Sunday, August 4, 12 Noon, at All Saints Catholic Church, 6403 Clemens Avenue, University City, Missouri. Jean donated her body to SLU for medical research.
