Margaret L. Buermann

Margaret L. Buermann of Saint Louis, Missouri, asleep in Jesus, September 29, 2019. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend. Preceded in death by her husband, Glenn and son, Michael Sr. Survived by daughters Kathryn (Matthew) Riesmeyer and Margie (Matt) Heimrich and Michael’s wife Kim (nee Frentzel). Grandchildren Jessica Heimrich-Aldridge (Josh) and Thomas Heimrich, Michael Buermann Jr (Sarah), Rachel Barbagallo (Tim), Jamie Bain (Andrew). Great-grandchildren Braxton and Nora Aldridge, Rolen, Dominic and Vito Barbagallo, Austin and Owen Bain.

Margaret’s faith sustained her throughout her life, and her greatest gift to her family was teaching them about Jesus. She deeply loved all in her family, and prayed for each one daily. She was fiercely independent, had the highest work ethic and taught her children the same. She was fourth born of ten children to Rev. Herbert J. Sr. and Laura Teske. She took the train to St. Louis after graduating high school at age 17, with one suitcase and $10 in her pocket and stayed with her older sister Ruth, who was finishing nursing school. Working as a secretary and bookkeeper, she sent money home to help support her family. She was accepted into The Bach Society of St. Louis by founding director Dr. William Heyne as a soprano and enjoyed singing her whole life.

Glenn was the love of her life, and they enjoyed spending time with their children and grandchildren, staying active in church, playing golf and traveling prior to his death. She was a devoted daughter, caring for her parents as they aged. She was our example of faith in action, showing deep love, caring and optimism, organized, attentive to details, disciplined, generous with time, her talents and finances. God blessed her greatly and her reward is now being present with Him in heaven. In her last years, Jessica, Josh, Braxton, Nora and Tom held a particularly special place in her heart as they visited her whenever they were in town, and visited via FaceTime otherwise.

Memorial service will be held Friday, October 18, 2019 11:00 am at St. Paul Des Peres Lutheran Church, 12345 Manchester Road, 63131. Visitation prior to service beginning at 10:00 am. Private burial following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Paul’s Lutheran School Scholarship Fund, 1300 N. Ballas Rd., Des Peres, Missouri, 63131 are appreciated.

In memory of the loving mother who sang hymns to her daughter and brought her to faith.

I knew Marge from Martin Luther Lutheran Church in South County, and later as a member of the Ladies League at Pomme Creek Golf Course in Arnold. What I will remember about her is her strong faith, and how much fun she was to be around. Please accept my sympathy for your loss.
